Pumpkin Village, 5th October – 31st October 2024
The perfect autumn activity to enjoy with the grandchildren, the brand-new pumpkin picking experience at Adventure Farm awaits. Enjoy live music, seasonal snacks and browse charming market stalls this October. Travelling there from your Albany Lodge apartments in Derby will take just 25 minutes along the A38 or for those using local transport, the journey will take just over an hour via the bus and rail.

Creatures of the Night, Halloween on Sadler Gate, 31st October 2024
In 1924, Dracula first graced the Grand Theatre stage in Derby. This Halloween, locals are invited to celebrate 100 years of the world’s most infamous vampire, with ‘Creatures of the Night’ on Sadler Gate. From 4pm-8pm, bring the grandchildren for a family-friendly evening filled with tricks and treats. Sadler Gate promises to be transformed with spooky decorations, while Blacksmiths Yard will host Derby Dracula, as ghost stories come to life on the street… And from 9pm onwards, it’s adults only, as the March of the Vampires invites dwellers to dress to impress!
Bustler Winter Weekender, 22nd November – 23rd November 2024
After a short 7 minute walk from our apartments in Derby, hop on the bus and ride for 13 minutes before jumping off at Trinity St to head to The Chocolate Factory. There, you’ll find the ultimate two-day indoor Christmas celebration. From festive entertainment to Santa’s Grotto and winter workshops, the grandchildren will love this Christmas day out.
Nordic Bar, 20th November – 31st December 2024
Taking place in Cathedral Green, just a 9 minute walk and then 3 minute bus journey from your Albany Lodge apartment in Derby, Nordic Bar invites you to step inside from the cold and gather with friends and family in their winter tipis. Wooden benches, festive foliage and twinkling lights await you by the firepit, where you can relax with hot chocolate, cocktails, mocktails and mulled wine.
Cathedral Quarter Ice Rink, 30th November – 31st December 2024
There’s no better way to glide into the seasonal spirit than at the Cathedral Quarter Ice Rink. Set against scenic views of the River Derwent, adults and children of all abilities can enjoy a spin around the rink, with free of charge sit-on and standing skate aids on hand to borrow for those feeling a bit wobbly on the ice. To get there from your Albany Lodge apartment in Derby, simply walk about 5 minutes to the bus stop on Albany Road and ride towards the city centre for 10 minutes.
